Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu Telugu Movie Review:
The actual journey of Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu has a strong and inspiring content, but director Babji failed to capture the essence of this beautiful tale. The first half sees his journey as a still photographer in Madras. After reading about a chrono-megaphone, which has the ability to create sound with picture, Venkaiah manages to be adamant enough in buying it and making movies both in Telugu and Tamil. But the way the director brings this tale to life is outdated and boring, with the cinematography failing to inspire.
The second half of the film, which is all about Venkaiah’s contribution to South Indian cinema makes it seem more like a documentary. Babji uses age-old original visuals of Venkaiah Naidu’s establishments in Chennai, which create intrigue, but also proves to be the film’s downfall. The climax of the film, preceded by Venkaiah’s downfall which lacks emotion, is absurd and lacks clarity. What’s even more silly is that there’s no transparency on the films Venkaiah made as a director either.
